Amount of Scholarship
The scholarship shall be two (2) $250.00 scholarships totaling $500.00 for each calendar year or (1) $500.00. Preference is given to first time High School seniors, but scholarship is open for up to four sequential years for returning applicants.
First Time high school applicant
A. Must be a high school senior at: Rockford, Kenowa Hills,Cedar Springs, Northview, Sparta, Forest Hills, Kent City, East Grand Rapids, or Comstock Park High School.
B. Maintain a minimum overall grade point average of B- (2.7) for his, or her, immediate two years of academic studies in high school.
C. Submit most recent copy of high School transcript.
D. Be accepted by a two or four year junior college, college, or university. Please include copy of acceptance letter. (Scholarship will be written out to school and recipient)
E. Has an interest in pursuing a college level course of study leading to an undergraduate degree.
F. The course of study should be relatable, in some way, to the teaching, promoting, conserving, utilization or researching of any of our natural resources. Resources, for example, could include soil, land, water, air, plant-life, forests, animals or minerals.
G. Submit a 250-500 word essay explaining how your chosen field of study relates to our natural resources and summarizes any previous experience(s), organizational work, awards, past-times, personal convictions, etc. which influenced you to pursue a career interest in your field of study.
H. (May) submit further information, recommendations, or pertinent facts which the applicant thinks should be considered.

Eligibility of Returning Collegiate Candidates
A. Graduated from, Rockford, Kenowa Hills,Cedar Springs, Northview, Sparta, Forest Hills, Kent City, East Grand Rapids, or Comstock Park High School.

The Board of Directors of the Rockford Sportsman's Club:
A. Shall make the final decision on recipients at the latest by the April board meeting.
B. Shall base its decision on the merits of the information submitted by the applicants
C. Shall pay scholarship monies by check payable to the recipient and the institution the recipient is, or will be, attending.
D. Shall fund the yearly scholarships with monies raised in the calendar year preceding the awarding of the scholarships from 1) interest earned from the Bob Bond Memorial Scholarship Fund, and 2) Fund raising activities whose proceeds are specifically designated for the scholarship fund. In case a shortfall occurs in the year the scholarships are to be awarded, the Board shall make a special appropriation from the General Fund to fully fund the scholarships. Any monies raised from interest or special fund raising activities in excess of the amount of the scholarships awarded shall remain in the Bob Bond Memorial Scholarship Fund.
E. Shall each year budget an amount to be deposited to accrue interest in the Bob Bond Memorial Scholarship Fund. This amount shall be deposited by April 1.
F. May, in special circumstances, grant additional scholarships.
G. May interview scholarship applicants.
H. May designate a representative of the Rockford Sportsman's Club to attend a scholarship award ceremony to present the scholarship.
I. May award a scholarship to previous recipients if the recipient requests further funding, and demonstrates successful completion of college work in the pertinent field of study.
