WINTER ARCHERY LEAGUE 

The Winter Archery League will be held on Thursday evenings starting January 12th and go for eight weeks ending on March 1st.

Shooting starts at 7:00pm and goes until 9:00pm.

The League is open to the public at the Club's indoor range. The league is open to men, women, and juniors of all abilities. There will be separate catagories for compound bow, traditional recurve or longbow, and crossbow shooters. Shooting distance is 18 meters (20 yards). There will be 60 shots per evening. Compound and crossbow shooters will use NFAA 5 spot tartgets, traditional shooters will use NFAA single bullseye targets. Shooters can also use FITA targets and scoring.  This is a very informal league and an excellent way to keep up your archery skills during the Winter.

Cost is $6.00 per evening for members, $7.00 per evening for non-members, $5.00 for junior shooters (15 and under).

RSC INDOOR ARCHERY RANGE

The indoor archery target butts in the Clubhouse are available for use by full members at any time other activities are not scheduled.  Targets, recurve bows, and arrows are also available for use.

It is the responsibility of the members to pull the targets out of the store rooms and replace them after they are done.  Cleaning up after youreslf is very important because the of the other activities, PARTICULARLY RENTALS, that go on in the Clubhouse.  Members are also responsible for damage due to errant arrows.

Cost is $5.00 per session per shooter, deposit in the box at the 50 yard range.  Contact Bill Skallos at 616 866-0096 or at wskallos@yahoo.com for details of setting up the range.  He will be happy to meet you and get you started.

INDOOR RSC JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) is open to all youth ages 10 - 20.  A JOAD program focuses on FITA Tournament Shooting for both Recurve and Compound Bows.  The program is intended to introduce and develop young archers in the sport of Archery.  Our program will focus on Safety \ Form \ Participation.   Cost per week is $5.00.  Parents please visit our website for more

RSC JOAD practices begin in November and continues indoors until April.  We make our transition to Outdoor Archery as soon as weather permits, normally in April or early May.

8:00AM JOAD Practice
Is intended for those archers who are our Tournament Shooters  or those with at least one prior year JOAD experience - Registrations will begin 7:45am, Practice will begin 8:30am continue to 10:00am.
Parents please arrive early, this will give you time to get your archer registered and sign waiver form.

10:00AM JOAD Practice:
This class is intended for New Archers to the RSC JOAD Program or beginner archers.  Registrations will begin at 9:45am, Class will begin @ 10:30am and continue until Noon.  Parents please arrive early, this will give you time to get your archer registered and sign waiver form.

Note:
No equipment is necessary for archers to begin shooting.  RSC JOAD has equipment available for archers to use.

Parents please refrain from purchasing new equipment before attending practice.  We have a number of coaches and instructor on hand to ensure you purchase the correct equipment for your archer.

A Parent or \ Guardian must sign a Waiver form on the first day of practice.  They will be available during the check in process.

PARENTS \ GUARDIANS - MUST STAY DURING PRACTICE. 
NO DROP OFFS AND PICKUP AFTER CLASS.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT. THAT YOU ARE PRESENT TO HELP ENCOURAGE YOUR ARCHER.

All new archers registering for the RSC JOAD programs, will begin with our entry level equipment (the Blooper Bow), Once the coaching\instructors are comfortable with your Form and Performance,
then archers may begin shooting their own equipment or other club bows.

New Archers with their own equipment:  Your equipment must go through a safety inspection by one of our Coaches\Instructors.  They will determine if the equipment is both safe and appropriate for
your archer to shoot.

All archers are required to participate in pre-shooting stretching and warm up exercises.
